Committee formed to study health impact

Thai Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has appointed a new committee to study health impact by asbestos. The committee’s Vice Chairman, Dr. ChanwitTarathep, also Deputy Permanent Secretary of MoPH has provided a statement following the first committee meeting.

Cabinet resolution had assigned MoPH to conduct further study of health impacts by asbestos. At the meeting, several studies from local and abroad were proposed. However, the committee had seen some loopholes. The committee would proceed to collect full information about the health impact and patient cases caused by asbestos. This will prepare for the following meeting in January 2013.
